Failing surgery! I had to write to the board services to get a GP in this area as none would accept me. They said they were full. I was allocated to this practice. When I went, I was told by the receptionist that they could not give me an appointment. I would have to phone on a Monday morning between 8 and 8.30 AM when all appointments for the week are given out. I tried phoning sixteen times as recommended and only got an answering machine with the message that they were closed and I had to call NHS 24 for anything urgent. What now?
Went along today to register only to be told they are not taking on patients. This is despite their website stating clearly that 'you are welcome to register with us and our reception staff will be happy to guide you through the procedure'.Suggest these people update their website to reflect the fact they are no longer taking on patients.
Nothing short of a disgrace in my opinion. To get an appointment is like some kind of telephone lottery, add to this the abrupt/rude receptionists and all round poor attirude.
This place used to be great but now is no longer that! Have been waiting on blood test results for weeks and weeks now! First time I phoned was told needed to get a retest done. So came in gave blood again....When I phoned for the results was told to call back a few days later. Called back and my bloods and results were lost! So had to go back do the test a third time! Got a letter this time to phone and speak to a doctor regarding my results..................could not get a doctor today! So have decided whatever the problem is, it can't be that important! So I won't be calling back again as I was feeling fine before all this carry on! The waiting for results and retests have caused nothing but stress! No news is good news!
You can't necessarily get an appointment immediately, as others have said (though I think it's gotten a lot better over the last 12-18 months) but that's because the care here is second to none. I've always managed to get one within a week or so of needing it, and today had a choice of three options over the next week. Quite a few times I've phoned up when my 18 month old's been ill and had a phone call back from a nurse or doctor the same morning, and the nurse always takes the time to see him the same day if he's got any worrying symptoms or needs a prescription. They can be busy at times, but that's because they're good at what they do and take the time to care. The best practice I've been with (my sixth over the years). They're not all like this by a long way!
